Overclock an netbook

Hi,

Is it possible to overclock an Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor in a Compaq Mini 730EO (2 GB RAM)? I think the graphic performance is terrible when running Adobe Flash etc.

With the xf86-video-intel drivers installed glxgears responds with this:

1180 frames in 5.0 seconds = 235.872 FPS

Is this result normal for an netbook?

Flash is terrible on any Linux system, since there is no hardware acceleration (maybe there is but even then it's minimal).

A netbook is an underpowered device by design, what do you expect? Pay a few bucks and get a supercomputer?

Also IIRC, the Atom CPUs don't even have heatsink fans....terrible idea to try to overclock one.

Flash is hungry for CPU cycles.  Even under Windows, my Atom N270 CPU struggles with Flash when running on battery and power-saving mode.

you wouldn't get any measurable hardware accel from the intel integrated graphics anyway
