changelogs & HAL (ref 2.6.33 upgrade)

Hi,

I've been using arch for over a year now and one thing I miss from debian/deb derivatives is the changelogs. In arch, is there a way, when a new package gets proposed for upgrade, to know what changes were made/introduced in this upgrade? That would help. I know you TUs are far much less numerous than the army of debian maintainers, and this might represent too much overhead. Just asking.

Also, re. the 2.6.33 and gnome 2.30 upgrades in the context of the deprecation of HAL: do the new package get rid of HAL? if not, when will that happen (if it happens at all)?

From pacman's man page

[Query options]
       -c, --changelog
View the ChangeLog of a package. Not every package will provide one but it will be shown if available.

Most packages I have tried don't provide it, though
