Firefox 64 bit and flash 32 bit chroot

Since two days im trying to get 32 bit flash plugin to work with firefox 64 bit using chroot enviroment. I followed those instructions on archwiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _in_Arch64 but theres only solution for both firefox and flash 32 bit.

Any ideas how to do this?

Re: Firefox 64 bit and flash 32 bit chroot

- Go to Flash10 x86_64.
- Download file at bottom.
- Decompress it.
- Copy ".so" file over ~/.mozilla/plugins folder.
- Restart firefox...

I suggest evryone just avoid mixing 64bits and 32bits... unless impossible (ie. wine64 doesn't run win32 apps, just win64 ones)

EDIT: Oh, about your "real" question: maybe you were looking for "ndispluginwrapper" (or something alike)

EDIT2: I forgot to mention you should read some literacy about "what is a chroot and what is its purpouse"....

Re: Firefox 64 bit and flash 32 bit chroot

what's wrong with pacman -S flashplugin ?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

That he didn't know what's the meaning of a chroot, so I give him the long path :-) just waiting to see if he would look for another "easier and proper" solution... :-)

Re: Firefox 64 bit and flash 32 bit chroot

You don't get my point. I already have 64bit Firefox and 64bit flashplugin as well as 32bit firefox and 32bit flashplugin inside chroot working. 32 bit flash works a lot better, ie. with 64bit flash when I fulscreen youtube video it hangs and I can't close it until video ends. I don't have such problem with 32bit flash, on fulscreen mode video only hangs a bit when I move mouse cursor, but I can close it any time.

So is it possible to run 64bit Firefox and 32bit flashplugin together? I don't wanna install 32bit libs on 64bit system since I already got chroot configured.

Re: Firefox 64 bit and flash 32 bit chroot

There was an AUR package that provided both... not sure of the reasoning of it but at the time I read it I figured it's necessary for some uses.  The package is here:

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=25402

But it's out of date.  Might be what you're looking for????
