TX Power Issue for wireless after upgrade

Hey,
I am having trouble with my wireless link on my HP DV2840TX laptop. Everything was working fine, however after the latest updates released over the last 24hours i have lost the ability to bring up the wireless interface.

wlan0     IEEE 802.11abgn  Mode:Managed  Access Point: Not-Associated
          Tx-Power=off
          Retry  long limit:7   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Power Management:off

---
Tx-Power=off is the issue. The hardware switch is on and when i boot with different distro the interface is brought up with power.

This obviously has something to do with the updates i recently installed, however does anyone have anyone know of a method to bring up the interface or switch on TX-Power?

Simply reverted to last 2.6.32 kernel in my package cache and problem fixed......

I guess i will wait to update the kernel
