Hi everyone,
I've noticed a couple forum threads and an e-mail on Arch-general complaining about the font sizes you get w/ the new KMS drivers, understandably, since they are tiny. Since I've seen a couple of these I would like to add a section to the wiki about ways that you can deal with this (e.g. increase font size, disable KMS, I'm not sure if it's possible but I can research to see if there's a way to change screen resolution w/ the KMS drivers), but I'm not sure where I should put it, since there's a general KMS page and then three different KMS pages for ATI, Intel, and Nvidia drivers.
It seems a bit silly to write the same section in three different articles, but I'm not sure how many people read the common KMS page, which just links to the ATI, intel, and Nvidia KMS pages.
Ideas, anyone?

Why would you ever want to use a lower screen resolution? Switching to a nice font is easy.
Install terminus-font. Edit rc.conf, tweaking so CONSOLEFONT="ter-120n.psf.gz".
It is strange that none of the subpages list it under tips & tricks or troubleshooting. A link somewhere to http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fonts#Console_fonts on the main KMS page would probably be enough.
Counter point, the section on getting high res consoles with Grub (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRU … resolution) does not mention you might want to switch to a bigger font.

OK, I added a link to the common KMS page, plus a hint to use terminus (I'm not sure what other, if any fonts, are available in large enough sizes to be useful). I didn't add anything to the "changing framebuffer resolution" page because I figure people will just pick a resolution at which they can read the text, but with KMS I'm not even sure if you can change the framebuffer resolution.
Hopefully this will help someone out.
