Epson Perfection V30 scanner

I know this scanner is Linux compatible and overall the series has been for awhile. Garet did a blog on Arch setup but my scanner is still not quite working yet. I'm fairly certain I extracted the firmware properly, but there is some doubt there.

lsusb shows the code fine

its hooked up properly... wire wise

dmesg acknowledges ehci being energized

the only "error" i can find is in /var/logs/message.log

Apr 14 20:33:56 rebecca kernel: usb 1-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 31
Apr 14 20:33:56 rebecca load-modules.sh: 'usb:v04B8p0131d0100dcFFdscFFdpFFicFFiscFFipFF' is not a valid module or alias name

aur/iscan is installed, as is gtk2 and x/sane

If anyone has some ideas that would be great.
