When I run abs, I sometimes see some "checkout ..." statements. For instance, this morning, I see this:
Updating collection extra/cvs Edit extra/multimedia/k3b/PKGBUILD Checkout extra/multimedia/k3b/k3b.install Checkout extra/system/pmount/PKGBUILD Checkout extra/system/sysfsutils/PKGBUILD Finished successfully
What am I supposed to do with that? Rebuild?
I believe checkout means that abs is updating those files and replacing the old PKGBUILD with a new one. For example the files you list are the PKGBUILDS for the packages that have been updated since the last time you ran abs. You don't have to rebuild anything, unless you compile all you packages from source using abs
yeah it just means that abs is getting the newest files from the servers... i.e if the maintainer changes AwesomePackage-0.1.2 to the new version Awesomepackage-0.1.5, then abs will update the PKGBUILD open your system when it checks it out
Got it. Thanks. A very responsive forum here.
