RAID 1 Hardware check

Hi Guys,

I wanted to buy a new Dell server for Arch Linux. I'd like one with hardware-based RAID (level 1).

I just wanted to check before I ordered it that there is no issue with Arch Linux and one of these:

C4 - Add-in SAS6iR (SATA/SAS Controller) which supports 2 Hard Drives - RAID 1

..is there? I was going to fill it with a couple of 500GB SATA hard disks.

From what I understand; a RAID 1 hardware controller should hide all the RAID gubbins from the OS, so Arch Linux only sees a single disk? Is this true?

Any tips or caveats from people who have actually tried this, or have some similar previous experience would be most appreciated!
