Revo Security System DVR OS ..... Linux?

My employer just purchased a new security camera system that our department will be installing. It's a Revo brand (http://www.revoamerica.com) plug and play system with DVR, cameras, etc.

After checking it out and going through the manual, I'm curious as to the OS in the DVR and I'm curious if it could be based on a Linux kernel. I can't find any mention of an OS in the literature that came with it or on their website.

I did however, notice in the error codes section of the manual, it mentions error# 4 kernel version error, 100 device mounting failed, 101 package not found, 102 extracting package failed, 103, Lilo failed, etc.

In their literature it's mentioned that they do not support any browser except IE.

I'm seeing Linux OS terminology in the error codes, but no mention of Linux or type license for the DVR operating system. Correct me if I'm wrong, wouldn't they have to mention Linux, and what type of license it had if used?

My new Sony TV has a Linux kernel based UI, and it's mentioned in their literature
