I've setup pulseaudio to work with gnome on many systems and never had any problems with it. Today, I wanted to install pulseaudio on my htpc which previously runned alsa perfectly. This htpc is connected with spdif to my receiver. I was able to get sound at first. On rebooting however, I did not have sound anymore. To make it back work I had to select the "Digital Stereo duplex (IEC958)" profile in sound preferences > hardware of the gnome audio applet for pulse. On the next reboot, again no sound. Selecting the "Analog stereo duplex" profile makes it work again. On another reboot I have switch back and so on...
Is their any way to resolve this problem?
