Closing X.org cause brightness goes down [SOLVED]

It is very difficult to see any text from the console when this thing happen.

Problem comes, when I switch to no-graphical virtual terminal and during shutdown process.

Contrast getting back if I switch back to X.org.

I have ATI radeon x1600 graphic card and open source video driver.

Anybody knows what I should to do?

Exactly which driver do you have? Can you post your Xorg.conf? Also, do you have KMS enabled?

I solved the problem. I just removed vga=773 option from the bootloader configuration file and everything works fine now!
