Hey guys,
I'm having trouble using my iPod with Arch64. I have an iPod Classic that previously worked flawlessly under Arch. I used a no-frills Openbox seup with hotplugging disabled. Using the following steps, I could access and change my iPod without any issues:
1. Plug in iPod
2. sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/ipod
3. sudo /etc/rc.d/hal start
4. Start gtkpod
Now I've reinstalled Arch64 and begun using Xfce4. I still have hotplugging disabled, however. But using my previous steps no longer work with my new install. I do the same process, and I can access and browse the /mnt/ipod directory, viewing all the the files without problems. But gtkpod, amarok, and banshee refuse to recognize that the iPod is plugged in.
Last time I tried, I started hal before mounting the iPod, and received this error upon plugging it in.
Any idea how I can resolve this problem and get gtkpod to recognize the mounted ipod?
