Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

No DE.
Awesome WM.

The problem appears randomly, with the main menu, with the context menu and with the dropdown menus of buttons in the mail secton.
Sometimes they work, but often they crash X.

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

Does the problem still appears with opera-devel ?

if you use opera for mail and surfing and ..., best make a backup of your profile before testing with opera-devel

did you try :
without kms for intel ?
without xorg.conf ?
vesa drivers ?

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

I have tried with and without xorg.conf, but right no I can't reproduce the problem. sorry.

I will check the other things if the problem appears later again.
About opera-devel: I couldn't use flash things with it the last time I tried (5 days ago). Thats why I use opera (10.10) again.

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

it seems to be the problem with opera-devel ( flash )

since the kde integration is in place i no longer have the problem with flash ( using kde )

i assume your system is good up to date, maybe there is a problem with opera 10.10 and the latest qt version,
did you try opera with qt bundeled ?

it seems to be the problem with opera-devel ( flash )

Yes and I tried some worksarounds without success.

did you try opera with qt bundeled ?

I will later. Sorry, I'm at work and can't download as much as I like.
I have tried with downgrading qt from qt-4.6.2-4 to qt-4.6.2-1 without success yesterday.

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

It happens with and without xorg.conf.
I cannot try opera-bundled, because it misses libpng12 -- current version is libpng14.

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

I have experienced similar problems when I upgraded my graphics driver to xf86-video-ati-6.12.192-1

X crashes with the same seg fault when opening menus in firefox using awesomewm. Downgrading my driver sovles the problem.

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

Maybe if downgrading is a solution, xorg18 and related drivers might be a solution too ?

Re: Opera crashes xserver if I open menus

Thanks, I have tried downgrading.
I will wait the few days until xorg 1.8 and avoid rightclicking. And maybe opera-devel will work with flash soon, too.
