touch /forcefsck does not work.

I have suddenly lost the 30 mount filecheck
also if i do sudo touch /forcefsck it does not check my filesystem after reboot.

Re: touch /forcefsck does not work.

'shutdown -Fr now' will force a fs check on reboot - does that help?

Edit: I switched to ext4 on my other box and the fscks are so fast it's easy to miss them :-)

did not work either, and no it is not as fast that I cannot notice, I always used to see it. I have been with ext4 for ages!

Re: touch /forcefsck does not work.

This may seem an obvious question: is fsck in your /sbin ?

Ugh, not at 6 AM :-)

I don't see any code that would complain about missing /sbin/fsck. I could be wrong, but that block of code simply wouldn't be executed (lines 227-266)

Re: touch /forcefsck does not work.

In that case

pacman -S e2fsprogs

probably wouldn't hurt...
