Hi,
Recently I had the issue that I wanted to record something with a camcorder connected to my TV-Card but all programs I tested have issues: Either they cannot set the audio input (because I wanted to record it from the soundcard instead of the tv card) or they could not control important settings of the v4l device like the Channel.
Everyone seems to assume that if you want to record video, you have a device with only one possible channel.
I remember using dov4l on Ubuntu but I couldn't find anything here, so I thought I look for it myself and it still exists and works even though probably noone is working on it anymore: http://www.vanheusden.com/dov4l/
I created a PKGBUILD for it (which may not be the best):

It's very simple: Start your video application, for example cheese.
Enjoy the the video noise the first channel of your analog TV card sends to the screen.
Type in a terminal
dov4l -i 2 #or whatever number the right channel isEnjoy the video signal from channel 2 on your screen.
