Brand new installation, why does crond.log unable sendmail

unable to exec /usr/sbin/sendmail

why is this in the log, at the moment I'm checking logs on my new install to make sure its healthy, is sendmail one of the default programmes, it doesn't appear to be an independant package, or is crond log referring to anything currently handling the email ports?

Whats going on?

Re: Brand new installation, why does crond.log unable sendmail

From /etc/rc.d/crond:

stat_busy "Starting Cron Daemon"

    # defaults to using syslog, and sendmail-ing cron output to local user
    # to mail output to remote address instead, add "-m user@host"
    # to CROND_ARGS in /etc/conf.d/crond

You'll find more information in the manual.
