[SOLVED] Suddenly only getting 640x480 max resolution on NVIDIA

Everything worked fine yesterday, but today I can't set the resolution using the nvidia driver to anything higher than 640x480. I did run a system upgrade yesterday, but as far as I can tell neither xorg nor nvidia have been updated for a while. The monitor is an Acer AL2216W with a native resolution of 1680x1050, which I do get when removing the xorg.conf and not using nvidia.

Tried using the nvidia-beta package from AUR, but the same thing happens. I'm currently on kernel26-2.6.33.2 because .3 made aufs stop working and the system unable to reboot, but when using the latest kernel version the problem persisted.

Already did, and there was nothing to be found. It was actually a hardware error. Plugged the DVI cable out and back in, without any effect, but when I reseated the power cable this morning it got back to normal.
