Hi,
I have installed Plymouth as per http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.ph … _on_bootup and when starting my comp, it gives errors like /sbin/plymouthd: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
However, pacman -Ss returns nothing except libpng which is already installed on my system. locate returns nothing like libpng12. Is there something I am missing? BTW I run i686 intel onboard graphics.

Are you using plymouth from the chakra repositories or did you build it yourself from the aur? If the chakra package you need to report it to them. I switched away from chakra, but I remember there were some problems rebuilding plymouth after the libpng upgrade a while back. However the AUR package seems to be working right now, so they should be able to get it working with their package too.

Yes using from chakra. AUR one (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=26117 ) looks filled with problems as well. Wonder how/what (K)Ubuntu uses for boot splash. Anyone confirming plymouth from abv AUR links works fine for them on intel onboard graphics i686?

Can we assume you have already asked on the chakra forum, as mcmillan suggested? If you're using their packages, you should ask for their support.
