I've installed arch and the installation went fine. However, when I drag windows the dragging is choppy and very slow. Firefox is hard to use because when scrolling it scrolls like step by step.
I have an ati card: Radeaon 3600 and am using radeonhd driver.
The same driver works excellent on ubuntu.
Any idea what could be wrong?

@jmak: Don't use the radeonhd driver. It doesn't support KMS (Kernel Mode Settings) which is enabled by default in the arch-kernel. The radeon driver (xf86-video-ati) is the better choice: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Rad … ce_drivers
And don't forget to install radeon_ucode from AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33016
If you want to use the proprietary driver: Take a look in the thread mentioned by Mektub.

Thanks, installing xf86-video-ati driver solved the problem. It seems driver xf86-video-radeonhd doesn't work anymore.
