Greetings!
I had a hard time getting basics of making packages. I hope I can learn more of this in time.
I request a build of Writer's Café 2.25. It is a tool for novel writing and can be used for several other purposes. This app is not open source as far as I know. It needs a license to unlock the full version. Will this cause problems?
It is currently dependent on the libjpeg6 package (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=28427) (AUR). That may not be optimal, but I contacted the creator and he told me that the next release (2.26) would have a static libjpeg dependency so it would go fine regardless of libjpeg version. Would it perhaps be wiser to wait for the next release?

The license issue will not cause a problem. Those who have a license can enter it after installation.
Although the libjepg6 dependency is "not nice", it's not a problem for packaging it. When the developer updates the package, the AUR package can be updated as well.
I'm working on creating the package, so stay tuned

Well, here's the package
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37074
The tarball was packaged in a non-standard way, so I had to use some workarounds, but "it works"
Also, I didn't check for any dependencies, if you have a list of them, I can add those to the package.

Holy macaroni! I have tried it and everything seems to work greatly Thanks a big bunch!
I took a look at the .deb at my mint-machine. I take it that it may also be dependant on libgtk?
Package: writerscafe2
Version: 2.25-1
Priority: optional
Architecture: i386
Depends: libgtk2.0-0, libgtk2.0-bin
Maintainer: Julian Smart <julian@anthemion.co.uk>

Glad it works
I'll add gtk to dependencies. I'm also in contact with the developer, so he can include a link to Arch package in his website.
