Tiny console font after "Waiting for UDev uevents to be processed"

When booting up the console font is a reasonable size until it reaches the step "Waiting for UDev uevents to be processed." Once that step is complete, the screen goes black and the font becomes at least half its previous size. This makes it very difficult to read the content on the screen. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

This is Kernel Mode Setting. Look in the wiki for how to turn it off, although not sure if you can do so with intel video cards.

increasing font size is also possible;

I like the look of it. The big font looks too muffled and a little bit pixelated.

I use an Intel card and I heard I couldn't change the setting in KMS, so I stuck with it and began to like it. On my other Arch PC, with an ATI Radeon card, it doesn't do that by default

Re: Tiny console font after "Waiting for UDev uevents to be processed"

It's mainly the way the boot process is no longer displayed elegantly that's bothering me. I want a smooth printout of the boot process as it's occurring. It looks like disabling KMS should do the trick, but I'm not sure what side-effects that's going to have. Are there no boot options I can set to have a consistent font size throughout?

The other option is to start KMS early in the boot process so that it does not interfer with your startup output.  A search on the furoms should direct you to the right method to do this.

I start the KMS early and have a nice smooth printout. I followed the wiki, everything went fine.
