Hello everyone. I have a HUGE DVD collection, and it's taking up a lot of space in my apartment. My wife and I are going to be renting a storage unit to put stuff we don't use, to get some space back. If I could store my DVD collection away, it would give us a lot of space.
I have a home file server with a 1.5TB hard drive, and a PS3. What I want to do is rip all of my DVD's into AVI files that can be played on my PS3 and backed up on my home server & external hard drives. This is would take a very long time with as many DVD's as I have, but I would like to get started.
I ran across the following script:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ScriptForDvdBackup
The problem is that script is for making ISO files, I want to actually rip DVD's into AVI files so I can copy them to my PS3 and put the original DVD master copies away in storage.
If anyone knows how to do this, that would rock!

I guess I posted too soon. I found this:

Anyone have any experience using that and have an opinion?
