[SOLVED] Alsa 1.0.23 and Asus EEE901 problem

I just upgraded my Alsa package to 1.0.23 on my Asus eee901, and now I have a problem where sound continues to come out of the speakers after I plug in the headphones:  I hear audio on both the headphones and the speakers when the headphones are plugged in.

I did some browsing, and I see from this post that there were some changes made ALC269 chipset codec (this is the chipset in the EEE901).

I added the following to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf:

options snd-hda-intel model=eeepc-p901

but that didn't change anything.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and figured out a fix?

Hey same problem with the ALC269 chipset and I tried a million of those different model=XXX settings before finding out that the simplest one worked for me.  Try 'options snd-hda-intel model=auto'
