Folks,
I've just installed mail-notification (5.4-4), and the icon shown in the notification area is always the "error" one (blank page with a red cross).
Launching from the shell I get the following:
(mail-notification:8331): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'stock_mail' for stock: Icon 'stock_mail' not present in theme
My icon theme is set to Tango:
sandro@argo ~ $ gconftool-2 -g /desktop/gnome/interface/icon_theme
Tango
but actually 'stock_mail' is missed in all themes I have installed (oxygen, gnome, ...). The following link reports a similar problem:
http://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-bugs … 27629.html
but it doesn't help a lot.
Any comment?

Just a quick update. Maybe this is the key:

Nobody of you, guys, is affected?

I have the same problem. The stock_mail icon is provided by the gnome-icon-theme 2.28 and has disappeared in 2.30. You can simply copy that icon from 2.28 into /usr/share/icons/gnome/...

This is what I did, actually (before switching to gnubiff, which is much more configurable and has less dependencies). Should I fill in a bug report? In the meantime, I'll mark this thread as "SOLVED".
Thanks

You probably have to regenerate the icon cache for that icon theme:
sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/gnome
You may file a bug report for this, but I suggest you do it upstream (mail-notification).
