dosfstools

I installed dosfstools because I wanted to format my sd card in fat32 using gparted.
Worked fine.

Now today I restarted the system and on boot-up, after loading udev events it declares all my partitions are clean and then says something about dosfsk [FAILED]
and goes into auto reboot in 15 seconds.

Couldn't get the system to boot up because it get hitting this point. Booted up the livecd did a chroot and uninstalled dosfstools and got the system to boot without a hitch.

Now was I doing something wrong, or is there a problem somewhere in my system that I do not know about or is dosfstools buggy?

thought?

cheers

Re: dosfstools

I haven't seen this problem.  What strikes me as odd about it is that dosfsck is starting at boot.  I don't remember it starting on boot.  In fact I believe it's still installed on one of my systems.  This may sound pretty basic, but I would double check my rc.conf to see if one of the daemons might be trying to start it.

Re: dosfstools

no it wasn't starting up with the modules/daemons. Was definitely not listed in the rc.conf.
I am assuming it was starting up with the udev events.

BTW I do not have a fat partition.
