Re: [SOLVED] AWESOME, problem

It looks like the hints issue in dwm: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dwm … al_windows

Apart from playing with your font size, I'm not sure how to fix it in Awesome...

Re: [SOLVED] AWESOME, problem

I've never been bothered by it, but I notice a difference of window layouts: only terminals are treated this, as all other programs I use have their borders to the limit.

... and I don't know how to "fix" it.

Re: [SOLVED] AWESOME, problem

It's caused by Awesome honoring the size hints of the windows. Which in the case of terminals are always multiples of the font characters width/height. Turning it off as per the link jasonwryan posted will fix it. Though depending on the terminal you might notice some slight glitches in the 'extra' area.

Re: [SOLVED] AWESOME, problem

Thank you very much. This wiki page helped. I needed to add size_hints_honor = false to the first rule in my awful.rules.rules  table. smile
