[Solved]CPU temparature going above critical temparature

I use dell studio 15 without ATI graphics card.
I do not have compiz .plain gnome installation .
My problem is that whenever i use any CPU intensive program for 2-3 minutes.CPU temparature shoots up and my system shut down.Like any youtube video, even gnome' tracker search program leads to higher CPu usage. So,i had it disabled.I even keep my laptop little elevated to give hot air some space to go out.

After 2 minutes into you tube video
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1:      +106.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)
temp2:       +64.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)
temp3:        +0.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)

Normal
acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1:       +82.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)
temp2:       +53.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)
temp3:        +0.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)

With even much criticized bloated Windows' VISTA , i never faced heating issues on my laptop.Even though i run with full aero themes enabled.

Do i need to do some configuration stuff?
I use speed governers for my CPU and have set them as ON demand, kept volume low and LCD brightness at minimum to reduce power consumption and reduce heating .But no noticeable benefit .

Is your laptop hot to the touch, or not?  You could have b0rked thermostats.  Also are you throttling your CPU?  Is your machine ventilated, and are the HSFs clean?

Re: [Solved]CPU temparature going above critical temparature

my laptop becomes bit hot to touch after sometime. But not whole laptop.below center and below left top side.

  You could have b0rked thermostats.

Vista runs fine, even with more load and even tried gaming.Only one it crashed in windows when i was playing a 3d game for almost 3 hours in vista.

Also are you throttling your CPU?
I use ondemmand speed governer .So that CPU freq is throttled based upon requirement. If i am not using that much cpu.freq will reduce.

Is your machine ventilated, and are the HSFs clean?
My laptop is ventilated.i even keep laptops over two books .so that below air vents get more air space. My laptop is only 9 month old.

Re: [Solved]CPU temparature going above critical temparature

It was result of using speed governers.I removed them.I never had to face any crash.
