midisport firmware autoloading

This seemed more appropriate in the hardware forum than multimedia (hopefully I made a good call there), so here we go:

installed midisport-firmware from aur, and my midisport 1x1 is recognised on the system (lsusb).

if I run fxload manually, firmware loads and all works well, but I cant get it to work on auto. The udev rules file seems solid and i cant think of what to change. Any ideas guys?

dmesg suggests that the device is not matched to rules at all:

usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3

that there btw, is literally all that my dmesg says after plugging the midi interface in 0.0

Re: midisport firmware autoloading

First of all, I don't own a M-Audio product like yours, but I thought I'd give a go at looking into the problem.

I'm thinking that the -D %N parameter for fxload in the 42-midisport-firmware.rules file may be the problem.

Here's a recent Debian bug filed that's like yours. I appears that they fixed the problem by changing that rules file from -D %N   to   -D /dev/%P

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=574180

Hope that helps.

Re: midisport firmware autoloading

Unfortunately that does not seem to do anything for me. I shall try restarting everything and then plugging the interface back in xD

Update: still nothing.. :'C
