Dual screen + mplayer

I use dual screen setup on my eeepc, which has Intel integrated video.
Dual screen setup works fine except for playing videos. When I have both monitors enabled, mplayer shows a blank box but plays audio.

Currently I have two (non)solutions:

1) Start mplayer with -vo x11 switch. This plays video, but only at the original size (can't make it full screen)
2) Turn off one of the monitors through xrandr.

Does anyone have the same problem and fixed it somehow?

Re: Dual screen + mplayer

try this and see if your video plays full screen:

mplayer -vo x11 -fs -zoom "filename"

this should work.

Re: Dual screen + mplayer

That works! Thank you.

This still seems like a hacky solution to me. (I read somewhere that -vo x11 results in slower and lower quality video)
Is this a known problem?

Re: Dual screen + mplayer

honestly I don't really know about the performance of the x11 output driver, however if you check the man page for mplayer, there are no shortage of other output driver options that you can try, I'd say do a little reading and see what the best one is, or try a couple out and see if you can get better performance.
