Laptop Functionality in GNOME

I have a Toshiba Sattelite-L305. I have installed Arch Linux, laptop-mode tools and gnome-power-manager on it. GNOME gives me no functionality for changing brightness sad and does not dim when power is out. Why?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
