[SOLVED]Can not set up alsa properly

I did a fresh install of Arch and KDE yesterday.  This is my first time using Arch (and KDE!).  I've used ubuntu for years.

I sticked to the Beginner's guide but could not get alsa working properly.  I cannot switch to earphone once it is plugged in.  My speaker and earphone play music at the same time.  This has never happened to me in Ubuntu.

There are three "output devices" in System Settings -> Multimedia:
HDA Intel ALC 269 Analog
Default
hw: 0,0

Any ideas?

Philosophy is looking for a black cat in a dark room. Metaphysics is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there. Religion is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there and shouting "I found it!". Science is looking for a black cat in a dark room with a flashlight.

Re: [SOLVED]Can not set up alsa properly

Thanks a lot!  I never thought that it was the problem with my sound card.
