Screen locking on KDE 4.4.3

Hi folks,

It's a bit outdated, but anyway. After upgrading from KDE 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 at first everything was ok - apps, widgets, transparency, suspend etc. But when I closed laptop lid (its button is binded to screen lock), everything went wrong. To resume screen, I needed to switch to tty1, then to tty7. Also all the fonts and transparency were broken, some crash windows appeared (barely readable, but looks like Dolphin crash, maybe something more).

After reboot transparency and screen lock still aren't working. I tried to set a theme without transparency, but on next start I've got white screen with some red crosses at the top. Now I've used backup image and reverted system to previous state. Recently (after about two weeks after first try) I've tried again to upgrade, but with the same result.

Can this issue be solved, aparts from holding KDE version on 4.4.2?

System specs:
Laptop: HP 6530b
System: kernel 2.6.32 x86_64, living on ext4 partition with a plenty (11 GB) of free space (if it matters :-)
KDE from official repositories (not KDEmod/builds from AUR).

P.S. Prior to this update I had almost no problems, also with screen lock.
