Desktop doesn't redraw after exiting full screen games

As the title says, when I quit a full screen game (Tux Racer, Warsow, etc) the desktop doesn't "redraw" and I either have to kill X and restart, or switch to a console and back again. Any ideas? I've done some searches, couldn't really find anything.

I'm running catalyst drivers from AUR (ATI Mobility 5730)
