audacious2 and projectM version 2

Hi all,
I've beem using Audacious2 as my default audio player with projectM visualization plugin enabled. Since the new update to projectM version 2, Audacious2 doesn't show the visualization, I've even compiled from AUR to see if it work but it doesn't sad I've noticed that the plugin file is /usr/lib/audacious/Visualization/projectm-1.0.so (this worked with the previous version of projectM not with >=2.0). When run in the terminal I get this output:

audacious2: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/audacious/Visualization/projectm-1.0.so: undefined symbol: _ZN8projectMC1ESsi

Has anybody solved this?

Re: audacious2 and projectM version 2

I also have this exact problem but I'm new to Arch (moved over from gentoo) so I've never had it work before. Perhaps a solution would be to use the depreciated binaries? I'm not sure if pacman has this option... Ill look into it and post my solution.

On another note (don't mean to hijack your thread) I can't get projectM to show up in the plugins menu for either XMMS or BMP... Not sure why,

Re: audacious2 and projectM version 2

OK so here is a solution:
Goto http://arm.konnichi.com/2009/11/01/extra/os/i686/
Download the following:
        projectm-1.2.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
        audacious-plugins-2.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
        audacious-2.1-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz
Copy these files to: /var/cache/pacman/pkg
        cp projectm-1.2.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz /var/cache/pacman/pkg;cp audacious-*-i686.pkg.tar.gz /var/cache/pacman/pkg
Install old packages with pacman -U:
        pacman -U projectm-1.2.0-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz audacious-plugins-2.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz audacious-2.1-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz

Should work now...

This is a sloppy fix. I don't recommend using it.
