Compiz crashes X

I've had this problem for a while, but untill now I thought maybe an upgrade will fix it soon. It didn't tongue
When I run compiz, most of the apps will cause X to crash, I can run 'bare' compiz from xinit with 'exec ck-launch-session compiz --replace ccp' but if I launch for example thunar, the server goes down. The same goes if I run some autostart script together with compiz that contains for example conky - X crashes instantly.
I tried running fusion-icon and (as the wiki suggested) dbus-launch "fusion-icon", but it's all the same.
I run on a nvidia GeForce 9400 GT and the proprietary driver.

Edit: the Xorg log has no errors in it and the warnings seem pretty harmless, but the console says the error recieved by compiz was 'BadAlloc' after the X crahses.

Re: Compiz crashes X

Ok, when running compiz --replace ccp in xinit X.Org gives out more info:

Backtrace:
0: X (xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x809f81b]
1: X (0x8048000+0x54745) [0x809c745]
2: (vdso) (__kernel_rt_sigreturn+0x0) [0xb785f40c]
Segmentation fault at address 0xfffffffe

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting

I started up compiz with no additional apps, started gedit through compiz-deskmenu (it started all right) and then tried to start firefox, the window appeared and after a second X crashed with the above error.

Re: Compiz crashes X

Anyone? Maybe someone at least had similar problems?
