Is cairo compmgr supposed to be light?

I installed Cairo compmgr with openbox on a Dell Inspiron 6400.  I was expecting better performance than that. I know that the Intel graphic card is not great, but I tought it would be lighter and faster than compiz with gnome?

Is there some setup I can improve?

In my experience Cairo Compmgr is shockinglingly buggy and looks crap, still needs alot of work, xcompmgr-dana is better in the aur.

I tried Cairo Compmgr last night, but it wasn't worth keeping around (too sluggish).
