When I use
hwdetect --net
I get an output that is a little boggling. Somehow its loaded modules that are also blacklisted? So are they actually running or not?
This is hwdetect output:
MODULES=(!mii !r8169 !ath9k_common !ath9k_hw !ath9k !ath mii r8169 ath9k_common ath9k_hw ath9k ath)
And this is my rc.conf
MODULES=(vboxdrv fuse !usblp vboxnetflt)
Any explanation for this?

Strange output indeed. I guess the modules still get loaded (lsmod will tell you more). What exactly are you trying to do anyway?

When you compile a new kernel, localmodconfig checks loaded modules and builds them in to be automatically loaded in the next kernel.

It wasn't after an update, and I'm not really trying to do anything I was just comparing modules that my computer would load when a certain wireless card is in my computer since the card works well in my computer but in the other computer it doesn't. I thought it might be a driver issue so I was seeing what modules were being loaded for it in case the other one was missing one.

Oh, well, that was my only explanation
