Since today I have unresponsive menu in Namoroka 3.6.3
everything takes 20 seconds or so to appear, changing tabs, for instance or right click or bookmarks menu and so on.
Textfiles can also become unresponsive,
No changes in addons or about:config ;
same behaviour in Safe mode, Midori doesn't have any issues.
Does anyone have any clues?
Installed today in system update various programs.
Each time I touch the menu I get the error when running firefox in terminal:
Can't resolve host name "localhost"!
host file in etc is
#
# /etc/hosts: static lookup table for host names
#
#<ip-address> <hostname.domain.org> <hostname>
127.0.0.1 paul.localdomain paul
# End of file

your /etc/hosts is not fine. it should be
127.0.0.1 paul.localdomain localhost paul
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Thanks for your suggestion but I don't run compiz but openbox.
But it seems to have something to do with the page rendering because sometimes I get an error when I minimize the firefox page that the page is not rendered well and you only see the title bar of the window but three times.

If your using svg icons try changing to a png icon set and see if that fixes it. As mad as it may sound, aparently FF menus don't work well with svg. Don't know if thats your case, but I had a similar problem like a month ago and that fixed it for me!

your /etc/hosts is not fine. it should be
Code:
127.0.0.1 paul.localdomain localhost paul
Changed it and this proved to be the solution. Thanks you all for reaching out!!
