[SOLVED] Warning errors after installing Blender. Bad desktop entries?

Any idea what these errors mean exactly and how to fix them?

update desktop mime database...

Warning in file "/usr/share/applications/Thunar-folder-handler.desktop": usage of MIME type "x-directory/normal" is discouraged ("x-directory" is an old media type that should be replaced with a modern equivalent)

Warning in file "/usr/share/applications/nautilus-folder-handler.desktop": usage of MIME type "x-directory/gnome-default-handler" is discouraged ("x-directory" is an old media type that should be replaced with a modern equivalent)

Re: [SOLVED] Warning errors after installing Blender. Bad desktop entries?

Hello

These warnings have nothing to do with Blender. Thunar and Nautilus are using deprecated mimetypes in the .desktop files (the file specifying the application's name, description, mime types, ...).
You should report these either in the Archlinux bug tracker (on the two packages) or upstream.

In the meantime, don't worry, there are warmless warnings aimed at developpers, you can safely ignore them.

Cheers
