[RadeonHD] Problems with KMS

Hi all!
I have been away for 6 weeks and today I have made a big update.
I have noticed that KMS is now enabled by default. That's cool but now 2D programs are very slow (scrolling in Firefox, switching windows with awesome)
Moreover, I tried to enable the early start of KMS but it causes a kernel panic.

Do you have any ideas to solve these problems?
Thanks.

PS: My card is an ATI RV710 [Radeon HD 4350]

Re: [RadeonHD] Problems with KMS

I don't really know what your issue, yet I have a Radeon X1200 video card.

I have glitches on 3D with the Arch's stable xf86-video-ati package.
However, AUR's xf86-video-ati-git works awesome with compiz kwin, etc...

However, I had to disable KMS as I was getting random freezes scrolling pages with
any web browser.... So ati-git + disable KMS may work for you.

And be sure to use xf86-video-ati and not radeonhd. Radeonhd doesn't support KMS.
