kernel 2.6.35-rc1 and networking

I'm in the habit of compiling the development kernel here via xduugu's excellent git package in AUR (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=25304) and lately I've noticed that dhcp networking isn't working at bootup. I'm using the standard Arch "network" script in rc.conf and dhcpcd doesn't seem to be getting started as it does using the -ARCH kernel and previous versions of the development kernel. If I invoke dhcpcd eth0 at the console, everything works fine. Anyone else notice anything similar?
