Starting Folding@Home, Silly Question

So, as the title indicates, I've decided to put my uptime to good use.  So I've installed foldingathome-smp (I have a dual-core), and I've done the fah6 -configonly work, but when I start it there are some odd symptoms.

1) I have 2 cores, -smp is set in the config, but only one of them spikes to 100%.  I believe this is related to:

2) whenever I do a cat /opt/fah-smp/FAHlog.txt, the last entry reads something like

[04:22:45] > Press "c" to connect to the server to get ID

If I run fah6 {-options} manually, the same message shows up, and I actually have to press 'c'.  After pressing 'c', the application segfaults.  It looks to me as if the daemon is stalled because it's waiting for keyboard input and isn't getting any, and if I proceed there's an error.

So am I being dumb?
