When Im using virtual box (windows host), how do I set it up so that the when I go full screen my arch desktop occupies the whole of the screen?
Is it an xorg.conf setting?
As when I go full screen currently my arch desktop is a box in the middle of a black screen.
Thanks

Have you installed the virtualbox additions in your guest operating system? I think once you've installed them, you won't need to do anything special for full screen.

As panosk said. I have an Arch VM in front of me now without an xorg.conf at all. The resolution of the desktop automatically resizes with the size of the window with the guest additions installed.

I installed them, but still nothing :S

In VirtualBox, have you enabled the related options for auto adjusting screen resolution, etc? Can't remember the related options because I run a headless installation of vbox from my server and connect to it through rdp. If you were running a Linux host, you could try the command
VBoxManage controlvm "Name_Of_Your_VM" setvideomodehint 1280 800 32
Just change 1280 800 32 with your prefered resolution and color depth. Maybe you can use the command-line tools in Windows too, just check it out.

I installed them, but still nothing :S
Run VBoxClient --all in the vm.
