[SOLVED] e1000e : eth0 NIC Link is Down

Hi again.

It turned out this had been no software but a hardware problem. Laptop ist connected via an old switch which seems to be broken.
thanks for your attention.

Hi.

A couple of days ago my wired networking stopped working. iirc with the latest kernel update to 2.6.33.4-1, but i'm not sure.
wlan still working.
I have a Thinkpad T61 with the Intel Corporation 82566MM Gigabit NC.

After booting dmesg immediately fills with

e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX/TX
0000:00:19.0: eth0: 10/100 speed: disabling TSO
e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Down

/var/log/messages:

Jun 8 11:17:09 negrito kernel: e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX/TX
Jun  8 11:17:09 negrito kernel: 0000:00:19.0: eth0: 10/100 speed: disabling TSO
Jun 8 11:17:09 negrito NetworkManager: <info> (eth0): carrier now ON (device state 8)
Jun 8 11:17:10 negrito kernel: e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Down
Jun 8 11:17:10 negrito NetworkManager: <info> (eth0): carrier now OFF (device state 8, deferring action for 4 seconds)

I tried the following:
· disable ipv6 -> no luck
· http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 35#p745235 -> no luck
· installing (and booting) kernel26-lts -> no luck

anyone any ideas on this?
