hello, i have a very basic arch/lxde install. no major problems and it's very fast. e.g.
[ag@myhost ~]$ sudo hdparm -t /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 580 MB in 3.01 seconds = 192.81 MB/sec
this is just after a straight arch install on ssd with no tweaks applied :-) roughly 25% faster than other distro's, closest was hd install of slitaz which gave 155 MB/sec.
only problem ... command line pm-suspend, pm-hibernate etcetera work and resume just fine but if i choose to exit from the menu the popup gives me the options of suspend, shutdown, reboot etcetera but none of the buttons except logout work. how does one attach the commands to the popup buttons?
thx

well i have narrowed it down to something wrong with the gtk libraries. i'm still experimenting with ssd so it's probably my fault ;-) however, needs a bit of investigating.

afaik you will need a login manager to do it
