Re: Gnome 2.31 in gnome-unstable

No problems so far except for anjuta

(anjuta:11849): libanjuta-symbol-db-WARNING **: Could not open connection to DB_DIR=/home/combuster/.cache/anjuta;DB_NAME=.anjuta_sym_db

libanjuta-symbol-db-ERROR **: Opening global project under /home/combuster/.cache/anjuta
aborting...

I had a problem with upgrading with anjuta only, I removed anjuta, upgraded gnome then forced install of anjuta due to existing files in filesystem, can't remember which one where they... I've tried deleting ~/.cache/anjuta but error is the same. Tried with anjuta -nf and no help.

Re: Gnome 2.31 in gnome-unstable

@combuster that is funny smile

it tries to load sqlite3.so from xulrunner because we have xulrunner.conf in /etc/ld.so.conf.d/ and it doesn't try another paths.  i guess is a bug in libgda

removing that conf and run ldconfig should fix that.

Re: Gnome 2.31 in gnome-unstable

[gnome-unstable] is built on top of [testing] so the repo need to go at the top...   Also, [multilib] should come after [community].

Finally get rid of [staging]!  No-one should ever have that enabled.  EVER It will break your system...  You are just lucky to have put it at the bottom of your repo list and not at the top where it should be (only for those who want to build packages for it in chroots)

Re: Gnome 2.31 in gnome-unstable

Maybe a problem with vte-0.26.0-1 I din't want to use gnome-terminal because it still pulls hal et al so I thought I would give Roxterm a go, however, if you try to edit a file with nano (or joe) all that is returned is "Error opening terminal: unknown." I though at first it was perhaps Roxterm but I get the same error with other vte based terminals. All other functions of Roxterm seem to work fine i.e. pacman etc. There is no problem launching nano with xterm which is what leads me to beleive that maybe vte is at the root of the issue.

Not sure then but downgrading to vte-0.24.3-1 and everything works fine.

Just me perhaps.

This was a clean install with just base & base-devel installed prior to adding gnome-unstable & testing to /etc/pacman.conf (at the top) and then installing xorg gnome etc.

I will see if I can track down what may be my error and report back if I find anything

Are you planning on to build packages of gnome-shell, gnome-zeitgeist(?) and uploading it to gnome-unstable?

Well, not because I can't remeber where my stuff is and such, instead I like graphs and graphs about my behavior even more tongue.

Re: Gnome 2.31 in gnome-unstable

Ζeitgeist is not official as far as I know, so I don't think it would ever be included in [extra]'s "gnome" group. Maybe in community. Maybe.

gnome-shell requires gtk3. it would take a while and i'm not sure if i would add it.

If you ever decide you want to, I have nicely working glib-2.27.0 and gtk3-2.90.7 PKGBUILDs that I can ping you.

See my upper posts. Gnome apps are unable to use svg images. I have no theme decoration by svg images too.
