pcmcia network issues

I'm trying to setup arch 0.8 on my parent's ancient toshiba 2595cds. For network, I've got a 3com  megahertz cardbus. I've added yenta_socket to rc.conf and installed pcmcia-cs and hwd from a floppy. On boot pcmcia starts up, finds the sockets, finds the nic, sets it up, all in all, it seems fine. However the network fails to start. I've got alias eth0 3c59x in modprobe.conf. An ifconfig eth0 works. lsmod shows 3c59x as not being used by anything. The only problem I can find anywhere is in errors.log, which has a few lines about eth0 not being able to reserve irq0. In messages.log there is a line from 3c59x that irq0 is unlikely to work. I'm too frustrated to figure out any more. I could really use some help here.

Re: pcmcia network issues

I'm not sure what I did but it works now! I think it was a bios setting.
