i am having a problem with suspend to ram.
I have used pm-utils, and uswsusp/s2ram.
suspending with s2ram works ok
suspending with pm-utils leaves the backlight on (haven't looked into this yet (how do you make make pm-utils use vbetool) )
The real problem is that when I attempt to resume, the screen stays blank.
I have used used so many workarounds from the archwiki, and the thinkwiki, I am not sure where to go next.
This is my latest pm-suspend.log:

anybody?

I used the following script executed on acpi lid close event before the last update (xorg 1.8, kernel .34)
Now my screen stays black on resume as well. echo -n "mem" > /sys/power/state fails itself btw, so the problem seems to be somwhere inside X, the kernel or the driver. Not pm-utils or script related
Any ideas?
#! /bin/sh
## prepare
/etc/rc.d/mpd stop
/etc/rc.d/wicd stop
sync
FGCONSOLE=`fgconsole`
chvt 6
radeontool light off
## go to sleep
sleep 2 && echo -n "mem" > /sys/power/state
## wake up
radeontool light on
chvt $FGCONSOLE
/etc/rc.local
/etc/rc.d/mpd start
/etc/rc.d/wicd start
//e Just had a look at the freedesktop Bugtracker but couldnt find anything useful.

Just to be sure, have you tried those instructions: [wiki]IBM ThinkPad X31#Hibernation[/wiki]
