i switched to wmii recently. Now it seems like wmii is ignoring what is set up in hal/policys or in the xinit or in whatever config file.
it starts directly at the login screen with US-layout. I want DE as before, than i can work around my way to setup a switch-key from DE to DE NEO2.
This is really anoying.
Which outputs / configurations do you need to help me?

originally i wanted to get everything working by udev but ended up at least for harddrives using halevt.
so, what would be the ideal solution to this problem?

Not sure. Is it just keyboard stuff? Is it possible to use xmodmap instead of hal?
For harddrives you can still use hal. Just X stopped using hal, everything that uses it still does.

can i run _somewhere_ in any file a configuration of xmodmap which autostarts _before_ the login? i am not sure, because i tried to much - xorg config, hal, manually setting by using setxkbmap, axkb.

Accord to the wiki you can set keyboard layouts in xorg.conf.d. An example is here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … 20G_Laptop .
