Okay. I have an external Lacie cdwriter, which is older now, but has worked in Linux before. But for some reason I have been unable to set it up recently. It is connected through my firewire port, but isn't recognized. Dmesg gives me "ohci1394: fw-host0: SelfID received, but NodeID invalid (probably new bus reset occurred): 0800FFC0" and the rescan-scsi-bus.sh script tells me "No SCSI host adapters found in sysfs"
I know that before it was a scsi device, but this was a while ago (still 2.6 though), perhaps something has changed. I'm running 2.6.10 with these modules compiled in: "legacy /proc/scsi/ support" "SCSI disk support" "SCSI CDROM support" "SCSI generic support" "OHCI-1394 support" "SBP-2 support" "Raw IEEE1394 I/O support"
I'm using udev, "/dev" is not even compiled in.
Hwd -e finds "104c 8019 "ohci1394" "Texas Instruments|TSB12LV23 OHCI Compliant IEEE -1394 Controller"" But does not find any new harddrives or partitions.
I'm open to any ideas. I've been stumped by this for a couple weeks now, and have yet to think of anything else that it could be. Perhaps I am just unable to find it under udev, but that seems unlikely, I must be missing something...
